The Launch of a New Era
Today we launched our new site and logo at VPS.NET. The project, which started in September of last year, is the result of an enormous team effort. Our London based marketing team worked with our web design team based out of Scotland, and Ukraine, while our content was written by our team in Cleveland, Ohio. Our teams in our Utah office also contributed invaluable feedback that helped push the project forward. Together, we’ve put together something we’re all proud of, and we believe represents the future of VPS.NET.
The previous logo and our robot mascot have both retired, replaced with a new logo that shows off the flexibility of VPS.NET, and also VPS.NET’s role with our parent company, UK2Group. Each of the blocks represent not only a node, showing how you can build a cloud server to your required specifications, but also show how each of the UK2Group companies collectively make up a comprehensive internet services company. Without one of us the group simply isn’t complete.
The new design is a radical departure from our previous design, featuring bright colors and a clean design that has a simplified navigation menu. Our marketing team worked closely with our existing customers and cloud engineers to come up with a design made to make the transition to the cloud even easier for small businesses. The amount of information readily available on the site has increased dramatically, with our available operating systems and each of our datacenters now available for browsing on an easily navigable page.
Finally, we made the decision to rename our cloud hosting product to cloud sites. Customers found the relationship between cloud servers and cloud hosting to be too confusing. The new name we feel is much easier to understand, showing that with the cloud servers product you receive a server just for you, while our cloud sites allows you to easily host your websites, in the cloud. Our hosted apps product was also re-named to cloud apps, simply to show our customers that you’re deployed infrastructure with the product is still hosted in the cloud.
I know many will be saddened by the retirement of our friendly robot, Node, however rest assured he has been well taken care of, and has promised to stop by the VPS.NET offices. I’ve even been told that he’ll be taking pictures from his retirement vacation, and sending them over for us. We’ll be sure to have them posted as I know he made a lot fans while he was with us!
