To celebrate SysAdmin Day, VPS.net are launching a confessional competition…

They’re the first on the scene of a serious computer crash, they’re there with their virtual hoses fighting fires when a server disc goes down, and they fight DDOS attacks without so much as a bullet proof vest.

That’s why, at VPS.net, we’re celebrating SysAdmin Day. For the past 15 years, this day has been held in appreciation of the hard work tech teams around the world do. This year, the festivities will take place on Friday July 25.

As part of the celebrations, we’re giving SysAdmins the chance to get a few pent-up confessions off their chests.

We’re asking SysAdmins to tell us about the hottest water they’ve been in on the job for the chance to win a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD.

So what sort of confessions are we looking for? Well, we’re looking for face palm moments. The kind that make you drop your head into your hands and do a Homer-esque ‘doh’.

You don’t have to use your real name in your confession, you can use an alias or remain totally anonymous. To tell us your story, all you have to do is visit the SysAdmin page on the VPS.net website and fill in the short confessional form.

The competition opens on Monday July 20 and will close at 3pm EST on Friday July 25. The winner will be announced at 5pm EST. The best confession will be judged by VPS.net’s own Sys Admins. The winner must be available to provide a short quote for the round up blog – of course this can be made anonymously, too.
