Love Is In The Air: Our Pick Of The Best Valentine’s Day Marketing Campaigns
Need help creating a marketing campaign? Elle Hammond’s on hand with inspiration…
It’s that time of year again, and businesses around the globe are pulling out all the stops to generate that warm and fuzzy feeling for February 14th. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of the most memorable Valentine’s Day campaigns. Check out our selection below and choose your favourite…
Heineken
Heineken’s “The Serenade” was dreamt-up by edgy advertising agency, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam. The Facebook app allowed users to send personalised songs to potential dates within their friends list. Those that received a proposition then had the option to select yes or no – for the whole of Facebook to see, naturally.
McDonald’s France
Our more er, refined, cousins across the channel kept it simple in this campaign, with a Valentine’s-appropriate ode to the classic Big Mac.
Apple
Apple’s direct mail campaign reminded loved-up couples that ‘love is in the ear’, and urged them to treat their other halves to a specially engraved iPod – for free.
Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut USA scoops the title of ‘Least Romantic Valentine’s Proposition Ever’. The fast food giant ran a limited edition $10,010 engagement package, which included a ring, a fireworks display and limo service. And, of course, a pizza dinner box.
Wilkinson Sword
Last year’s Wilkinson Sword ad reminded men everywhere to keep smooth for their ladies on Valentine’s Day, but also hinted at something a little bit deeper…
Levi’s
Spontaneity, youth, affection and – well, denim.
Coca-Cola
It’s nice to see a brand simply showing its love for its audience. Coca-Cola’s Love Is In The Air: A Coca-Cola Valentine wishes people around the world a Happy Valentine’s Day.
Hooters
The restaurant chain encouraged people to declare their love through the medium of chicken.
Have we missed one of your favourites? Got a campaign that’s cheekier than Hooters’ “No ring? Give her wings!”? Add to our list below.
